Several years ago, when I first moved to the area and was working as a sales rep for a national home builder, Thanksgiving was a tricky week. We were open every day except for THE day. For many of my coworkers from PA, OH, and states too far to drive for 1 day, a new Thanksgiving tradition was created.
Today, none of us still work for the company (thank goodness!) and are very close friends. And the tradition of Harvest Supper continues.
Over the years we have added other friends, boyfriends have come and gone, and husbands and babies have joined us.
Being the biggest 'event' our group has all year is quite a tall order, considering we have celebrated every birthday, wedding, baby shower, bachelorette, and many random Tuesday nights.
Everyone brings a family dish (or 2 or 3) and a bottle of wine (or 2 or 3) and we enjoy each other, our friendships, and share what we're each thankful for.
I am thankful for having such a strong group of girls in this city, both when I had just moved here, and now 6 years later. I am already looking forward to Harvest Supper 2012!
